Pennstar is off at a record pace in establishing himself as a leading sire of quality coverdogs. Currently 15 of his offspring have recorded more than forty wins in coverdog events. As the sire of the 2004 Winner of The Grouse Futurity won by his son, North Star, with owner Dr. Harold Holmes handling, “Rock” proved his mettle as a sire of dogs with great potential in this Breeder’s Classic. Additionally, Rock’s offspring placed in six coverdog puppy and derby classics during ’04 at venues around the country. A hard hunting coverdog that moves with class and points with style get attention anywhere. As the S’05 coverdog season begins, his derbies Britestar and On Fire along with his pup Hemi have recorded good wins in large fields.
Below are a series of photos supplied by owners of Pennstar progeny. Some of these dogs are winners in top flight competition. Others are used primarily for hunting in various locales across the country. What do you get when you breed to Pennstar? These photos help to answer that question.
